Lakeland Union High School (LUHS) District has approximately 718 students and is located in the town of Minocqua, Wisconsin, a small community located approximately 74 miles north of Wausau. The district is comprised of twelve towns within two counties: Cassian, Hazelhurst, Lake Tomahawk, Minocqua and Woodruff in Oneida County; Arbor Vitae, Boulder Junction, Lac du Flambeau, Land O’Lakes, Manitowish Waters, Presque Isle and Winchester in Vilas County. The area has a population of approximately 20,000, with an economy based on four-seasons of tourism, recreation and health care. LUHS is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditations and School Improvement (NCA-CASI) and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. LUHS is a member of the Great Northern Conference
