Each year there are 20 to 50 million tons of e-waste discarded in the world. E-waste contains toxic materials, including heavy metals, that can easily seep into the ground and ultimately get into groundwater supplies. According to the EPA, recycling e-waste allows more than 100 million pounds of materials to be reused annually. The purpose of this scholarship is to help you understand the impact of e-waste and what can be done to reduce e-waste. For more information, please refer to these articles.

The Ab Nicholas Scholarship Foundation will offer scholarship to approximately 80 WI public and private high school graduates based on need, academic achievement and character.  The annual scholarships-$10,000-for four year programs and $5000-for two-year programs-are renewable for the length of the program

Application Opens February 1, 2024

•  Catching the Dream has three separate scholarship programs, the MESBEC, NALE, and TBM program.
•  100% of the CTD students who have graduated with a degree in math, engineering, science, business, education or computers is working- over 85% of them for tribes or tribal organizations.
• The range of CTD scholarships is from $500 to $5,000 per year, based on merit. Over 95% of students who applied have been awarded a scholarship.

AISES student members have easy access to scholarships for American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, and Indigenous peoples of Canada through the Online Scholarship Application Information System (OASIS) provided by Indigenous Education, Inc. In OASIS, students will complete a General Application Profile that can be finished, revised and submitted year-round and that will automatically match students only with the scholarship opportunities they are eligible for, and those that are open and available to receive. Creating a General Application Profile is the first step to completing other scholarship applications that you qualify for. 

To be eligible for a scholarship, students are required to meet the following criteria:

1. Be an enrolled Lac du Flambeau tribal member
2. Be a high school graduate during the 2023-2024 academic year
3. Attending college full-time beginning the 2024-2025 academic year
4. Have a complete Lac du Flambeau Tribal Scholarship Program Application and required documentation on file by the April 30, 2024 deadline.

In its continuing commitment to guiding and supporting the Lac du Flambeau community on its lifelong path to success, the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians is pleased to announce its second annual scholarship program for graduating high school students.

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a current senior in High School and a legal resident of the United States or Canada.
B) Be enrolled or expected to be enrolled by the Fall of 2024.

To be eligible for this scholarship students must: Maintain a GPA of 2.75 of higher Be accepted to the institution with a culinary, pastry or food service-related major

The WPS Foundation partners with the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) on its technical college scholarship program. High school seniors living in the WPS service area can receive a scholarship to attend one of six select WTCS schools full-time next fall:

• Fox Valley Technical College
• Lakeshore Technical College
• Northcentral Technical College
• Nicolet Technical College
• Mid-State Technical College
• Northeast Wisconsin Technical College

Eligible students can receive a scholarship to work toward completing a one-year technical diploma or two-year associate degree program.

Student Eligibility

• Between 17-24 at the time of the application.
• Child who is a dependent of a worker killed or seriously injured in a compensable work-related accident or occupational disease with a Wisconsin employer.

Current annual scholarship amounts range from $500-$5,000 and are determined based on the student's financial need.

Kids’ Chance of Wisconsin is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides scholarships for children of workers who have been killed, seriously injured, or experienced a debilitating illness in a work-related incident. Scholarships are awarded once a year and students may apply every year for which they are eligible. 

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

A) Be a high school senior with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0.
B) Be accepted into an engineering, pre-engineering, or engineering technology program.

Four one-year $3,000 scholarships available to undergraduate students enrolled full-time in their first year of college in a pre-engineering, engineering, or engineering technology program leading to a bachelor’s degree in a course of study that traditionally has been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession.  Applicants must be high school seniors with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest and/or a class standing of no less than the top 30% and accepted into an engineering, pre-engineering, or engineering technology program at a post-secondary educational institution that meets at least one of the following criteria:

• the institution hosts a recognized ASHRAE student branch ASHRAE Student Branches
• the program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) www.abet.org or the Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA)  
• the program is accredited by an agency outside the USA that is a signatory of The Washington Accord or The Sydney Accord
• the program is accredited by an agency that has a signed Memorandum of Understanding with ABET.

The WCCA is planning on giving away three scholarships for $1000.  Applicants must be a member of a senior high school or those who are beyond high school age but are continuing their education.

Preference is given to students seeking advanced education in a field of study closely related to the work performed by County zoning and environmental/natural resource agencies.

Established in 1996, NativeVision awards four $5,000 college scholarships annually to outstanding Native American youth entering their first year of college with a commitment to education, athletics, and leadership. This year, we are proud to announce that two of the scholarships will be given in the names of two very special athlete-mentors that we lost in 2022: Alf Jacques and Cookie Krongard. Alf Jacques led an amazing life and was the great Haudenosaunee lacrosse stick maker. He was one of our most adored NativeVision volunteers, teaching Indigenous children about the Creator’s Game. Alf won the “Catch the Spirit” award from NativeVision for his selfless dedication to teaching and mentoring youth who gathered at our NativeVision camps to learn about healthy pathways in life through the lessons of sport. Howard “Cookie” Krongard was an extraordinary humanitarian, ally to Indigenous Peoples, and dear friend to the Center for Indigenous Health and its NativeVision program. Cookie’s passion came from profound life experiences, learning about the beauty of Indigenous peoples and cultures through his love of lacrosse. Cookie became a core member of the lacrosse coaching team. He poured his heart into each camp: teaching lacrosse skills while mentoring the children in lifeskills. At our last NativeVision camp before COVID-19, Cookie won the “Catch the Spirit” award, just like his close friend Alf Jacques We are proud to honor both of our dear friends – Alf and Cookie - by dedicating a NativeVision scholarship in their names.

The WI Towns Association, Rural Mutual Insurance Company, and Scott Construction Inc. will be awarding $7000.00 in scholarships to high school seniors that plan to enroll in WI private or public college or universities in 2024.

When is the scholarship application open?

Our scholarship application opens February 1st each year. The priority deadline is May 31st, but the application remains open until January 30th of the following year.

The American Indian Education Fund (AIEF) was established to support educational opportunities for American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian students.  Our vision is strong, self-sufficient American Indian communities.  Scholarships are chosen by a national selection committee and decisions are based on an overall assessment of the completed application.

The DOE Scholars Program is a Department-wide program designed to create a pipeline of highly qualified talent in disciplinary fields that support mission critical areas of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The DOE Scholars Program provides opportunities designed to introduce DOE missions, functions, and operations to talented undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates. These opportunities will help prepare Scholars towards the full range of entry and mid-level research, technical and professional positions within DOE and other organizations that support the DOE mission.

The Lac du Flambeau Tribal Education Department is committed to supporting your educational and professional goals.
