Career Based Education

Research has indicated that making the transition from middle school to high school is a crucial part of the development and success of each student. Career based education at LUHS was created to help our incoming ninth graders assimilate into life as a high schooler and realize personal, social, and academic success.
We use a team based approach--each student enrolled in Career Pathways is taught by a team of four teachers who represent the core academic disciplines of English, math, science, and social studies. Each student is also enrolled in a Freshman Focus (taught by their core team teachers) which is a learning lab time for remediation, enrichment, and making connections with teachers.
