This course is open to all students. Upper levels require a satisfactory grade in the previous class. Ceramics I introduces students to the hand building techniques of slab and coil construction and the techniques needed to throw on the potter’s wheel. Students will also experience different methods of glaze application. Upper levels of ceramics will improve on techniques including extrusion, pitcher form, clay inlay, altered forms, and increasing in size.

Student artwork is displayed throughout the year with exhibitions at Howard Young Medical Center, Marshfield Clinic and at the Spring Arts Gala.
