PREREQUISITES:   Advanced Algebra (may be concurrent).


What you will learn in this course:
This course is a college preparatory course that will teach advanced concepts and lab techniques in physics. Included in the course are studies in the following areas:  mechanics; energy and momentum; heat; waves; electrostatics; DC/AC circuitry; magnetics; electronics; atomic structure; nuclear reactions and high-energy physics. 
How you will learn in this course:
In this course you will use labs, discussion, and lecture to investigate and utilize many advanced skills in the area of physics. Students will be expected to express ideas verbally during discussions and in writing in lab reports.
Why this course is important:
Students in this course will attain a depth of understanding of fundamentals and a reasonable competence in
dealing with physics problems. The course will contribute to the development of the student’s abilities to think clearly and to express their ideas with clarity and logic. This course will begin to build a total understanding in the area of physics for students who are typically going to need physics in their future studies.  This class is a college preparatory class that should be taken by students who plan on continuing their education in a math, science, engineering or a health related field.
