Welcome to the Visual Arts and Design Department!

With 16 courses to choose from, LUHS students are offered many opportunities to develop artistic technique, creativity, and problem-solving. We strive to prepare students for college or other post-secondary opportunities.
We have state of the art facilities starting with our traditional art classrooms housing a full pottery studio with 10 pottery wheels, 16 cubic foot electric kiln, and de-airing mixer/pug mill.
We also have a full drawing and painting studio equipped with a wide variety of mediums and enough space to offer students opportunities to draw and paint from still life displays on easels.
Our digital art studio contains 26 - 22 inch iMacs outfitted with Adobe Creative Cloud. The teacher station in our digital art studio boasts a 27 inch iMac with a 72" Promethean Board. Canon digital SLR cameras are available for students to check out to complete class projects.
