Welcome to the Visual Arts and Design Department!

With 16 courses to choose from, LUHS students are offered many opportunities to develop artistic technique, creativity, and problem solving. We strive to prepare students for college or other post-secondary opportunities.
We have state of the art facilities starting with our traditional art classrooms housing a full pottery studio with 10 pottery wheels, 16 cubic foot electric kiln, and de-airimg mixer/pug mill.
We also have a full drawing and painting studio equipped with a wide variety of mediums and enough space to offer students opportunities to draw and paint from still life displays on easels.
Our digital art studio contains 26 - 22 inch iMacs outfitted with Adobe Creative Cloud and Lightroom 5. The teacher station in our digital art studio boasts a 27 inch iMac with a 72" Promethean Board. Canon digital SLR cameras are available for students to check out to complete class projects.
